         Coach Doby started playing lacrosse for Perry Hall Rec in 1987 and enjoyed every minute of it. He went on to play defense in the MIAA at Loyola Blakefield graduating in 1997. He continued to play lacrosse in college initially at Towson University then transferring to Stevenson University where he received multiple player awards and was a captain for his junior and senior years.
